"We’ve had a time to remember at AbleStay London. A good break means having to hand everything we need and the chance to not think about the day to day of ‘what needs to be done’.

Jo van Berckel’s enthusiastic welcome was heart felt. We’ve had the opportunity to welcome our own guests to this amazing home from home. It’s so much more than a holiday let.

We wanted for nothing! Jo had even provided a slow cooker allowing us to enjoy our days out and come back to hot food that met our varying dietary needs.

The location is great, close to the A3/M25 and the station. Getting us easily into London and off to some of our old haunts like Epsom Downs and Hampton Court.

The facilities were fab, for the first time we didn’t need to load our van with the kitchen sink. Everything we needed was provided. Spacious, comfortable and appealing, thoughtfully designed. Our visiting family and friends were as wowed as we were.

The recliner chair was such a hit Beth would like one for home.

We’ve already booked another stay!"

“We had an amazing mini break at AbleStay London.  A brand new and first of its kind fully adapted bungalow 30 mins from central London.  We are only the second family to stay and had the pleasure of meeting Jo and Charles, the couple behind AbleStay.

They have thought of everything we could possibly need through their own experience of having a child with profound disabilities like Emma.  The bungalow is so well designed and beautifully decorated, we weren’t in a hurry to go sightseeing but we did!  London is way more accessible than you think.  We cannot recommend and thank them enough for giving us a memory filled and possibly last adventure with our beautiful daughter Emma.”

This home is just perfect.  Christopher has ALS MND Lou Gehrig Disease and our needs were specific.  Your generosity has enabled us to ‘make our memories’ at the wedding of our daughter Niamh.  Also, because our family home was just 2 miles from here where we had our children, our closest friends were able to stay with Chris to make their memories too.

Visiting our 1 week old first granddaughter.  We were so thankful to pick up a last minute cancellation and have been quite overwhelmed at this wonderful home.  More than we could ever have imagined.  Thank you.

What a fantastic time we have had at AbleStay.  Such a beautiful, well thought out and accessible home.  We have wanted for nothing for Jack while staying here and it has been lovely to shave such a good space to ‘come home’ to after our days out.  Thank you so much for having us.

Such an amazing home, we have had everything we needed for Zara in such a beautiful space.  You have thought of everything.  Nice, easy travel into London and everything you need on the High Street.  It was lovely to come back to the home comforts after a busy day making memories.

I still can’t quite believe that you have been able to create such a masterpiece and it is the first accessible holiday home in London.  Had such a lovely time exploring London and with the train station being so close, it was with ease.  I couldn’t wish for a better house to navigate while attending to my client.  I am so thrilled that others will get to experience this lovely home.

Just make sure you visit God’s football team, Arsenal FC.

We recently spent a weekend at AbleStay London and it was fantastic. My Dad suffers from Motor Neurone Disease and as his needs become more specific, it is so difficult to find places to stay that cater to this disabilities. The location at Worcester Park had everything we needed for him to enjoy a trip to London comfortably and it has been thoughtfully and beautifully decorated.

We were absolutely wow’d by the house and by the hospitality of Jo and Charles. We want to thank them for making the trip possible and can’t wait to return in the future.

Congratulations AbleStay.   In all my time of visiting and living in London, these 4 days were by far the easiest - thank you.

We were very impressed with AbleStay and how well equipped it is and to such a high standard.  The house was fully complete with board games, wifi, cable tv, maps and also information for places to visit with young children.

The location in Worcester Park is perfect, it is simple to travel to central London and it is just as easy to go to the South Coast or Heathrow airport.

The cleanliness of the house and all the furniture was immaculate and all in all, an amazing and stress free experience.  Will definitely be back again.

 5 star for everything.

Ellis

From the moment we arrived at AbleStay London, where we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes from Charles to the last closing of the door when leaving, we’ve absolutely loved our visit. The house is just amazing. We’ve visited other ‘adapted’ places but this house feels like it’s been made perfectly for the wheelchair user not just make do in its adaption. It’s all the little touches that mean so much like the welcome pack, the information details on the brilliant desk, the equipment you need being provided rather than having to bring everything. The choice of bath and shower for Ellis was wonderful. I haven’t bathed Ellis since he was a wee boy so that made me emotional. Jo’s attention to detail in the decor, which is beautiful, love all the artwork and the tie in with London. We were amazed by the lights on timers which was a lovely touch, along with the Himalayan salt lamps.

You’ve left no stone unturned, everything needed is there right down to various sized glasses and even a jig to measure with, along with a variety of umbrellas, which came in handy too.

The adaptable kitchen with the marvellous fridge, the sink and its powerful control and the height adaptable cooking worktop. There is every piece of equipment needed in that kitchen, every thought has gone into the planning of this property.

The house was beautiful, each bed looked warm and inviting and the beds were so comfortable. We’ve stayed in hotels before and Ellis never sleeps properly without his profile bed. Believe me he had no issue here at Able Stay, which made our trip so worthwhile.

The information from Charles about Worcester Park train station was spot on. We parked there all day and the service from South Western trains was outstanding. Transport around London was varied from bus driver to bus driver but we managed to navigate. We visited the Science Museum, we went to Hampton Court Palace, had an amazing lunch at the Anchor in Wisley near the RHS Wisley and enjoyed the Abba Voyage. This trip has been so wonderful that we’ve already started planning next years.

In Ellis’ words, it’s impressive and that means a lot from him. He was so independent and loved having all the freedom the house affords. Can’t thank the Van Berckels enough for their dream come true place - it has certainly helped us have a lovely holiday and make fabulous family memories. God bless and thank you so very much.
